Sweet Thing x 2

I know I have a lot of blogging to catch up on Cindy (John's sister) reminds me quite often ;) During my time off over the next month, I have big plans to update you on our lives and most importantly all of the fun and exciting things Elle has learned over the short six months she has been in this world. I have it all in my brain, ready to share, BUT tonight, I wanted to get one sweet thing out that I can't stop thinking about..........well 2 sweet things! John and I just LOVE having Elle around. You just don't know what you're missing in life until you have a child. Seriously. They do something to you and it's impossible to describe. If you have kids, you know what I'm talking about, if you don't.........hold on to your britches because your life will do a 180!

Well, Elle has said her first word last night, "DADA"! She's been babbling something that sounded like it for the last few weeks, but last night it was official! Elle had woken up in the middle of the night, I fed her and layed her back down. Then it was John's turn to get up and go pat her back until she fell back to sleep. He walked in there, started patting her back and all you could hear over the monitor was "dadadadadada" in this sad, tired little voice! PRECIOUS! Everyone knows that I have been trying to get Elle to say "Mama" since she made eye contact with me. It's OK, my feelings aren't hurt like I thought they would be. Us Mom's get the privelage (haha, kinda) of carrying our babies around and having a special bond with them. Dad's should definately get the first word, right? They work hard too! Especially John, he's such a great Dad......not that I ever questioned his abilities..... I always knew he would be, but he proves to be more amazing everyday. So, that's sweet thing #1! Elle said Dada 2 weeks before she turned 6 months.

Sweet thing #2: The other night John and I were sitting on the couch and Elle was sitting on John's lap, facing me. We were just sitting there talking and all of the sudden Elle started reaching for me and making this crazy noise, so John handed her to me. It was so cute! Then I faced her towards me and she grabbed my lip and cheek and pulled her face into mine and bit my lip. LOL. TWICE. It was like she was trying to give me a kiss and trust me, she is familiar with lots of kisses! Have you seen her cheeks???? They are HUGE and extremely kissable! Anyways, it was the absolute sweetest moment and I will NEVER EVER forget it, she hasn't done it since, but I'm hoping I get another smooch from her sometime soon!

Both things happened this weekend and it just makes me realize how fast she's growing up. I look forward to more milestones; however, that means she will also be getting bigger... I'm not sure I can handle that right now.
