Am I going to give you tips on parenting? Absolutely NOT! All I can say is that it's pretty much the most amazing job in the world. I've read a ton of articles and endured a ton of advice about parenthood and the only thing that I took away from it and found to be true is that when you have a baby you FALL IN LOVE with them. I never knew that I could love something so small SO much. Elle has become my world. When I look into that face I see a little of me and a little of John and nothing makes me happier. Elle is honestly the best baby in the entire world and somedays it's hard to remember the days without her. And then of course, John & I take her to the grocery store and she starts screaming at the checkout line.....then I remember the days without her and how grocery shopping use to be such a stress-free experience. Now, we run through the store as fast as we can trying to get out before she wakes up. Then you have to make sure that no one can see her and keep her little canopy down so some weirdo doesn't come up and stick their dirty fingers on her, admiring how cute she is. GROSS. On that note, what is it with strangers??? All of the sudden you grow a belly and they can touch it? HELLO........ it's still an extension of my body, PLEASE don't TOUCH! AND then, your bundle of joy arrives in the world and everyone wants to touch her face and hold her. SO WEIRD. If I'm not related to you nor friends with you PAWS off. I don't want your dirty grocery shopping fingers infecting my newborn!
ANYWAYS, back to how wonderful it is being a Mom! I never update my blog, but tonight I was inspired. I was rocking Elle to sleep thinking to myself how beautiful she is and how I'm dreading her growing up so fast. I also thought to myself.....GIRL, you BETTER sleep through the night because I might collapse one day. My boss already thinks I'm crazy after I called in last Friday leaving him a voicemail he couldn't understand (for those of you who know me and have seen me cry, you're probably laughing hysterically!) Literally EXHAUSTED. John and I have a tally going over who gets X amount of sleep these days. If you ask me, we're both in last place.
On a happier note, watching Elle grow up the last 12 weeks has been quite incredible. She laughs, smiles a TON, splashes in the bathtub (my fav), talks back to you, and took 3 steps the other day (JK, just checking to see if you're still paying attention). No really, she stares at herself in the mirror non-stop, and STILL cries EVERYTIME I take her out of the bathtub. HONESTLY??? I've had the same routine for 12 weeks and everytime I pull her out she acts like its a new day. STRANGE. She lOVES this book called "Bubbles" (see FB for pics). Everytime I read it to her she laughs, kicks, "talks", and tries to reach out for the pages. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever!
I've been really bad at keeping everyone updated, so from here on out I attempt to keep this up. Just remember, I'm a VERY busy girl these days and by sitting here doing this, I'm missing a good hour of shuteye! So you better appreciate it! Here are a few pics from the last 12 weeks! Gosh she's getting big!
OK, SCRATCH THE PICS! IT'S NOT LETTING ME DOWNLOAD ANY. Until next time...
