I don't think any women truly appreciates their Mom until they have a baby of their own. Don't get me wrong, I've always appreciated my Mom, but when you have a baby of your own, you REALLY REALLY appreciate your Mom more than ever before.
I absolutely LOVE being a Mom. There are so many things I could list off that I love about Elle, but I'd have to say the one thing I love most about her is the smile she can bring to my face any hour of the day. No matter how bad my mood is or no matter how early it is in the morning... a little smile on her face can cure anything (except sleep deprivation). I also love how she is mine (and John's but we're talking about Mother's Day). I hope I can teach her all of the things I've learned and I hope she looks back one day and knows how much I cared about her.
I love my Mom so very much and on top of that, I have a ton of women in my life who have taught me a thing or two without them even realizing they have had such a big impact (maybe I should write everyone a letter).
A few things I've learned along the way:
Listen more, talk less
Tradition is important
Something made is much more special than something bought
I don't need to raise my voice to say, "no"
Let kids be kids
Be more generous
Accept people with open arms... day or night, weekday or weekend
Say my prayers
Happy Mothers Day to my Mom, Step-Mom, Grandma(s), Aunt(s), and sister(s). I love you all SO much and I hope you had a great day!
