The itty bitty girl with the itty bitty appetite!
Today Elle is 10 months old and in 2 months we are saying GOODBYE to formula! I.CANNOT.WAIT. It would be a dream to think I will be able to cut the bottle out at the same time, but the chances of that happening are slim. Milk in the bottle! NO MORE FORMULA!
Elle’s favorite foods include: cottage cheese, puréed kale w/ banana, potatoes, pears, cheerios, avocado, peas, ACORN squash (refuses to eat butternut, not really sure the difference), and anything “apple” apple juice, sauce, or trying to eat an apple with me… she loves apples.
She eats a lot more than that, but if she could pick her menu that’s what would be on it.
I had never heard of Kale until I came across it on her food menu. It turns out it’s one of the most nutritious veges out there. It has a strong taste and smell, but you just mash a small piece of banana in it and it’s delish. It takes a little bit of work to prepare because you have to separate the leaves from the stems, but once you get the hang of it, it goes fairly quick. One bundle of kale cooks down so much that I only get half of an ice cube tray full of food.
And the burning question that has been on my mind for several months. What kind of milk do you put your baby on after formula? I’m leaning towards hormone free/organic milk. There have been a lot of studies in the past few years and if you haven’t looked around you kids are going into puberty MUCH younger now a days and there is a high correlation between puberty and the hormones found in food & milk. Obviously, it’s impossible to avoid everything, but if I can take a small step like changing her milk, then I might just do it. Also, as an added bonus a gallon of organic milk can last up to 2x longer in the refrigerator vs cow milk because the temperature at which they pasteurize the organic milk is much higher. Anyone else give their baby organic milk?
