Boogey Season

We have ALL seen one of these, right?  The dreaded boogey squeezer or bulb syringe if you want to get technical!  I remember using it on my little brother and sister and now I have to use it on Elle.  The boogey squeezer has been a necessity throughout Elle’s 7 months.  When she was first born, she had so many boogers.  She was the mucous queen!  The first one we owned was taken from the hospital.  I literally couldn’t live without it because if Elle was stuffy, she was crying! We carried it everywhere and then Winston (our dog) chewed it to little bitty pieces.  We were DEVASTATED!  So, we went to the store and bought one.  That one was horrible. You’d push the bulb in and it would just stick.  That would leave Elle crying……not only did she still have boogers, but she was pissed because we shoved it up her nose.  Then I got smart and got one from work because well………we sell the ones the hospitals use.  Welp, Winston chewed that one too! FANTASTIC, right!??!  Then luckily my wonderful sister-in-law had an extra one, so that’s the one we are using.  Not great suction, but it will do.  It will do until today because look what I discovered!

I didn’t know these even existed! It’s called a Nosefrida nasal aspirator! You gently rest a tube on their nose and you put the other end in your mouth and suck!!!!!! LOL. Yes, YOU suck the boogers right out of your child’s nose. NO FEAR…….they apparently go into a filter, how hysterical is that?!?!?!? But still………barf, right? I was reading the reviews and they were so funny! Every Mom was totally grossed out by it, but they swear it works, so I will be purchasing one! Elle was recently sick and I would have to pin her down to use the boogey squeezer on her. My elbows would kinda hold down her arms and one hand would be holding her face while my other hand would be operating the boogey squeezer. And if I wasn’t hovered over her enough, she would kick me in the throat. Do you have a mental image yet? Fantastic huh?
Also, do you notice how calm the child is in the picture?

  2. Too funny Kathy! It must be a dog thing because Abbie chewed up Brady's when he was a baby and she's been eye-balling Blair's.
