she's a walker

All I wanted was for Elle’s walking to be delayed… not that 13 months is delayed, but when all of her cousins walked at nine months… I was a little worried.  She held off and I’m grateful she did.  I like holding her and snuggling her as much as possible.  Now that she is on the move, she is so proud of herself.  The first day she started, we were at Grandma & Grandpa Syracuse’s house, so there was plenty of cheering and clapping to keep her going.  John and I still clap and cheer, but its not nearly as loud and rambunctious.  And as proud of her as I am (I was ready for her to walk)…. Am I clapping and cheering at the fact that she is GROWING like a weed?  I don’t want to clap for that, but I imagine there will be plenty of times in her life that I will “clap” regardless of how I feel.  That’s part of being a parent, right?

John and Elle visited me at work today and we went to the park for a quick 30 minute play session.  All she wanted to do was walk… and she did.. even on the uneven woodchips.  She lost her balance once or twice, but got right back up and if she could move any faster, I’m 99% positive she would have chased the other little girl down at the park.

Just another milestone out of the way and many more to look forward to…  i LOVE her!
