I remember being in college thinking how I couldn't wait to get out. Seriously? What was the hurry (oh I remember, I was there for 5 years)? Life was so easy. There was drama here and there with friends and boyfriends, but I hardly had any responsibilities. My rent was under $300/month and I split an electricity bill up to 5 ways! My family would offer to pay for gas to get me to come home and they had little expectations of me because "I was still in college".
I have a million favorite memories, but those 4 years (+1 @ Ferris) wouldn't have been the same if I hadn't lived with these 5 girls. I went in knowing Tiffany. She was a life long friend/neighbor/bestie/math tutor. We were good together. We roomed with 2 other girls... one of those being Jennifer. The three of us were good together. Jennifer (Jen) was from Frakenmuth. There was something appealing about her red curly hair with subtle blonde highlights (which later I became responsible for). Her uncontrollable use of the "F" word was hilarious. Then we met Lindsey. Lindsey didn't like me. She lived 3 doors down and didn't like the way I sat in my chair and did my makeup with the dorm room door open. Well clearly, she got over it. I asked her to go out with us one night despite her stand offish behavior. I bet she's thanking her lucky stars she gave me a chance. Then there were four inseparable girls who thought The Wayside was the coolest place on earth. Then there was Ashley. I actually knew Ashley in high school, she was a year younger than me and I was jealous of her. I always thought my boyfriend @ the time had a crush on her. Well clearly, I got over it and the 5 of us started spending time with her. The following year, we decided to rent an 6 bedroom apartment together. Wait you say, why would you rent a 6 bedroom apartment with only 5 people? Well, that's when Holly decided to transfer to CMU. Holly couldn't have been the more perfect addition to our house. She is the funniest and craziest girl I know and she could make any day interesting. The 6 of us were nearly inseparable. We had a blast together and I will never forget:
- Our dog - that Jen apparently got me for my birthday - it was ugly
- Dance Parties
- Photo Shoots - yes I still have the pictures to prove it
- Britney Spear Sing Along's
- Inspiration Boards - cut models out of magazines and hang them in the kitchen
- Fights - we had a lot of them
- Acapulco - and everyone backing out
- 21st Birthdays
- Halloween & New Years Eve Party
- Our Red Porch Light and the shock that came to me when my Dad explained to me what that meant..
- Crawl Space
- Holly driving my car and getting rear-ended
- Ashley backing into my car taking out the garbage
- Sibling Weekend(s)
- Tiffany's Birthday Poem's - Shake Yo' Tail Feather
- Ashley kindly asking me to turn down my radio
- Lindsey finding my cat dead
- Holly asking for Tiffany's help with homework because she could never remember what's due
- Borrowing clothes and not promptly returning them - guilty as charged
- Lindsey strictly instructing me to not lose her purse
- NYC
- Ashley's alarm clock
- Lindsey's naps right before the party
- Newlywed marathons
- Super kitty
I just desperately searched for a picture of all of us together and couldn't find one! Apparently everyone was to embarrassed to keep them on facebook. Can I say I blame them? Girls, send them to me if you have any.
Here is Ashley, me, and Lindsey our last night as CMU students...
