In Their Shoes...

I’m really trying to make it a priority in my life to not judge people. Face it, we are all guilty and sometimes we do it without even realizing it.

I found myself guilty of this yesterday while I was Christmas shopping. I love Christmas shopping, and it’s my favorite time of year even with all of the hustle and bustle of late shoppers.

I started out my day with a Carmel Brulee coffee from Starbucks (YUMMY) and proceeding to go shopping. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot a woman laid on her horn because she thought I ran a stop sign when in all actuality, she did! If you know me at all, you know the first thought that ran through my mind. After 7 hours of being pushed around and honked at I was the one in a bad mood. I had then thought back to my first experience of the morning, and it was then I realized this woman was probably pushed around all day as well and I immediately felt remorseful of my previous thought.

People: Jesus is the reason for the season, not your precious toys, clothes, and electronics. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE gift giving and I too have a goal of finding that perfect gift for someone; however, it doesn’t justify honking, dirty looks, and rude comments. If you can’t handle the shopping experience, shop online.  Please & Thank You.

Bottom line, even at your angriest moment, don’t judge people. Think about their situation and ask yourself, “If that were me, what would I do?”. I try and do this and 9 out of 10 times, I feel better.

DISCLAIMER: I STILL really try to ask myself that question. They don’t say, “Old Habits Die Hard” for nothing!

Happy Shopping.
